A Confession About Chores...

Do you have a chore at your home that is the LAST thing you ever want to do??? I mean, the one thing that makes you want to pull out your hair? As a kid, I HATED to vacuum because my parent's had a really cool central vac system (being facetious here!!!) that was so big and bulky that it was a NIGHTMARE to manage around the couches, etc.

Well NOW, I don't mind vacuuming so much because I have the great vacuum EVER (the Dyson Animal, which incidentally will suck the hair off a cat!) that's pretty light and easy to maneuver. Now my least favorite chore is something pretty ridiculous: I HATE folding clean clothes.

See...pretty dang STUPID. But here's the really dumb part about this whole confession...I don't mind doing laundry...I just hate folding the clean clothes. Here's a picture of my bed THIS MORNING. After I SLEPT in it.
Ya, I'm that girl...who totally sleeps under a pile of clean clothes. There are shorts and shirts, jammies, work out attire, you name it. And ummmm, I have a load in the dryer right now, too. Why on earth do I hate this one chore above all else??? I think it's because my washer and dryer are off the side of my bedroom and I never hear the buzzer go off telling me it's done, so I don't remember until I head to bed...and then I'm just too sleepy to do it.

Sound stupid? Ya, it did to me, too. How about you? Do YOU have a chore from hell? Something you just can't stand to do??? Please make a confession about chores in the comment section below so I don't feel like such a loser!!!

I hate folding too. I often just throw things in drawers (sorted of course but still a mess)

But I hate ALL household chores, really.

Folding clothes doesn't bother me, I can do that while I'm watching TV.

I hate doing dishes though. Food bits and soap are icky, and I hate that "over-washed hands" feeling afterward.

what happened to your folding thing you bought from "as seen on TV?" ha!

Hmm would have to say I hate doing dishes. Love all other household chore, except cleaning toilet and around it.... but no dishes b\c that is a constant, but I also hate a messy counter so go figure!

I am so with you on the laundry folding! It's so easy and I'm fast at it, but I hate it!

I am with you girl! I can wash clothes like a mad woman, but folding and hanging them is the bane of my existance!

I Hate, Hate, Hate to iron....i just don't do it. Folding clothes, washing dishes, and filing paperwork are on the list, as well. So..you're not alone!

That is hilarious!!! I can't believe you sleep under your clean clothes.

I don't mind folding - but I despise putting them away.

I should mention that I don't sleep under mountains of clothes ALL the time...only every now and again. Ha! So glad you all have chores you hate, too!

I am avoiding folding clothes now! I will have to take a pic. Mine are piled on the guest bed. Having an empty room is not a good thing!

Folding laundry is my least favorite too. Like you, I don't mind washing it, but the only way my clothes would fit in my dresser at college (I had 2 drawers in a dresser I had to share with someone else) is if I folded them a certain way. Now I can't put laundry away if it's not folded "right." I'm a little bit OCD about it... but I also have the problem of telling myself "I don't feel like taking the time to refold (yes, I fold it out of the dryer, throw it in a basket, then re-fold it when I get it upstairs) it right now" and there it sits, on the bedroom floor.. I've been known to have weeks upon weeks worth of clean clothes on the floor at times and it looks like my bedroom blew up... but it's all clothes...

Yup, folding laundry... my least favorite...

and dishes...

and vacuuming...

and dusting...

LOL can you see a pattern here?

I don't even mind the folding - it's the putting it away that gets to me.

I have to agree with laundry being my most hated chore... folding isn't so bad, it's the putting them away part, ugh! They sit folded in baskets for days... sometimes a week or until they are worn again!

Oh!!!! It is now 9:25 and I still haven't started those baskets of laundry. I kind of don't mind folding it, because I make all of these neat piles on our bed to categorize everything. Guess that is what 12 years in retail will do to you.

I live with boys, I hate cleaning toilets... (nuff said)

Stopping by from SITS to say hello. Cute post!

Love clean clothes, obsessed with fresh towels. However, I will leave them in the dryer for days to avoid putting them away. Totally with you on this one.

I don't mind folding, washing, or putting in the dryer, but I HATE, loathe, and despise putting clean clothes away. Hate it!!!

Thanks for the visit today. :)

I totally agree with you on this one! I HATE to fold the clean laundry. It will seriously sit in the dryer for three days, then move to the laundry basket for clean clothes, and then, by the time I finally go to fold it, it is so wrinkled and wadded up, that I might as well wash it again! Seriously...it is ithe worst chore EVER!!!

It's the putting away for me--I hate it! I don't like unloading the dishwashing either--I guess I'm just not a finisher.

Hi, I stumbled on your blog from the Brooklyn Limestone blog, and when I saw this I just HAD to comment... I hate laundry SO MUCH, that in the "fixer upper" we just bought, one of the number one priorities is changing the second floor kitchen (we're converting a 2 unit back to a 1 unit) to second floor laundry/slash/walk-in closet. I figure if the shelves and hangers are RIGHT NEXT TO the washer and dryer I will have no excuse for the piles and piles and baskets of clothes I currently have all over my bedroom!! I'm so with you...

Oh my, we both hate the very same thing but my hubby does all of the laundry and wants to me fold and put away which I hate. However I think I hate grocery shopping even more - spending $100 and coming home with nothing to make for dinner.

Laundry is definitely my chore from hell. The washer/dryer is in the garage so I NEVER hear it go off. So I forget. Sometimes for a few days, then I have to re-wash that load again. And hope that I don't forget. Again. After I've done the laundry I can fold no problem but then get lazy about putting the clothes away!
