My friend Lindsay threw down the gauntlet for a $5 challenge, and while my crafting skills aren't anything to write home about, I knew I could come up with something pretty original. The execution wasn't perfect, but boy did I make myself laugh!
In preparation for Clare's baby shower, I did a lot of online research for fun ideas...while I used absolutely ZERO of them for her, I found one for me. You know those cute closet dividers for infants? The ones that say newborn, 1-3 mos, 3-6 mos, etc? Well, I realized a great way to keep my work wardrobe organized would be to have one that said this week, last week, and then I came up with a special divider for the back of the closet too, which is revealed below!
Here's my breakdown. From the .99 Store, I found 3 wooden door knob hangers for .89 each, a bottle of pink craft paint for .50, and a spool of ribbon for .50. At home, I had a black paint pen, some white wall paint, and some green wall paint (from the kitchen!). So, all in all, I made this silly little craft/brilliant closet organizing system for $3.67 (before tax). Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!
I painted the dividers up, drew some silly designs, and added ribbon to the top in order for them to stand out amongst my suits and full-length ball gowns (what, like you divas don't have several in your closet!), and WAH-LA, I had a finished project!
Well, enough of what I think about my project, what do YOU think about my project? : )
What do you think?! Is it a winning idea? Not really? I'm okay with that, but what I really want to know is: did it make you laugh??? : )
Be sure to head on over to Living with Lindsay to see what the other challenge participants came up with!

That did make me laugh! I especially like the "skinny" one as we all have those clothes we will only even try on every now and then to anxiously see if still fit into them and if they are comfortable enough to actually wear!!
I love the "Skinny Clothes" tag. I think Mommy could use them too :)
Very cute. The skinny clothes tag would be WAY in the back of my closet. lol
This made me laugh, too. Nice work.
Skinny Clothes...Do You have the same closet as me? Cute stuff!
super cute idea!
If you raffle those out please put my name in the hat!
Those are so cute! I totally have those baby ones for Caden's closet (super helpful as he always receives clothes big in size etc that I save for the future) and totally have thought--I need some of those! Especially since I feel like I've bought a zillion different sizes pre and post baby! Love it! Such a cute idea!
I do love them, especially the "skinny clothes" one. lol
Those are awesome, JJ!!! Dang you are smart (and funny!)!
