Not long ago, I tweeted "if DIY is my true love, then photography is my mistress." And it's seriously felt that way lately. In the past, my weekends were devoted to projects around my house, but over the past couple of months, I've either been traveling or doing shoots to build my portfolio. It's working out well, though, because my photoblog is ALMOST ready to be revealed! However, that's meant the projects around my house have taken a back seat.
So, remember how the chair started out? I found it online for 14 bucks and once I saw it I knew why it was so cheap...the seat cushion was covered in several layers of fabric, then WALLPAPER, then plastic...GROSS. Then I discovered there were roughly 72 layers of paint on this puppy. Note to DIY Divas: inspect the layers of paint closely before buying a piece of furniture that you want to make over...it makes scraping and sanding very difficult, and I wouldn't attempt this project again. Having said that, I did it, and the chair is finally finished!!!

I'm very pleased with how the chair turned out...but am more pleased that it's DONE. Ugh, but now it's time to tackle this turd. When will I ever learn???
