Argh Melissa, I've Let You Down!

So, Melissa challenged the blogosphere to a Procrastinator's Party and gave us two weeks to get a project done that was in need of attention. As you may recall, I had a chair to makeover...ONE CHAIR.

Some bloggers chose to do an entire room (cough*Lindsayyouoverachievingjerk*cough) and finished them beautifully. Me, I only had the one flippin chair and well, I'm only halfway there.

IN MY DEFENSE, I've had a busy couple of weeks at work, am planning a golf tournament, have had several shoots, and am working on launching my real life photoblog, so it's not like I didn't have much to do...and there's been a ton of soap opera and bon bon eating that's required my attention, too.

ANYWHOOOO, the chair had about four or five layers of nasty fabric on the seat cushion. The top was plastic and ya know what was under said plastic? WALLPAPER...I kid you not! Lots of staple removing was required, then fixing the padding/batting, then arranging the new fabric just so. Then there was the SEVENTY TWO layers of horrific paint...the sander wouldn't do it, so I had to get the stripper involved...no not that kind of stripper!

It's taken me longer than I would have liked to get the chair back to basics...hopefully tomorrow I can get it cleaned up and sanded down and then by Saturday, I'll be able to finish it off. Until then, how bout a sneak preview???

1. Love that fabric!

2. LOVE those shots! The feet one is adorable.

3. You have to remember that I'm a SAHM with not much of a social life, so yeah, I have plenty of time for projects. :D

I wish I had the time and talent to take on a project like that. I have an old sewing desk that needs a makeover. Hi from the SITStahood.

Oh, that fabric is great. Love the pleatie (I think I made that word up) look. Your flipping chair is going to rock. I completely agree Lindsay is an overachiever - what a show off! hehe.

Well, I had 4 chairs and didn't even get started! Does that make you feel any better? Can't wait to see the finished project!

Funny post. I loved it!!! The fabric looks fabulous! I only got 3 of my 6 chairs covered (they were already painted & hubby helped me). It does take a lot longer than we imagine. I should have used a fabric that didn't need to be centered just so. And my 2nd project, I didn't even get started. So I'm right there with you girl.

Oh, you crack me up. I feel like most of blogland are overachievers so my half-completed chair seems pretty pitiful in light of those bloggers who do a project a day! EEEK. Not me. But nevertheless, I am proud of your effort and because you took those adorable photos of a cute kid, I'll forgive you for being a disappointment. LOL. Whatever. You just made me feel better about myself this week. For that, I thank you. Onward and upward!
